November 22, 2002: The Cadmus Group, Terra Novum and Beacon Consultants, contractors on the Million Monitor Drive (MMD) in support of Energy Star and the EPA, have received notice that the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) will be recognizing the MMD program and the contractors who are responsible for administering the program (Cadmus, Terra Novum, and Beacon Consultants). This recognition comes as part of the ACEEE's efforts to recognize and profile exemplary energy efficiency programs.
From the ACEEE notice: An expert review panel selected [the MMD] as worthy of this recognition. ACEEE conducted a national search to identify such program models in order both to recognize the individual achievements of the selected programs and to showcase these programs for possible emulation by other organizations interested in promoting similar energy-efficient technologies and practices.
Response to ACEEE's call for nominations was overwhelming, a positive
and affirming sign of the amount and quality of work that is on-going to
improve the efficiency of energy use within our homes, businesses, industries
and other types of buildings and facilities.
[The MMD] will be publicly recognized for your achievements in exemplary
practices for energy efficiency programs.
The ACEEE will present this honorarium at a still-to-be-determined awards program for exemplary practices. This public ceremony will occur in conjunction with a selected forthcoming industry event, such as ACEEE's annual Market Transformation Symposium held each spring in Washington, DC.
